In a fashion-forward move that will shine the international spotlight on WA’s creative industry, Perth Fashion Festival (PFF) will head to Singapore for Blueprint, a two day trade show at the Audi...
Cosmo presented the first runway for Thursday night. Bettina Liano, Extinct, Hussy, Joveeba, Nicolangëla, Nina Maya, This is Genevieve, Wayne Cooper and White Suede were all part of the fifth L’Oreal Paris Runway at this year’s Melbourne Fashion Festival.
This is Genevieve was superb, this was my favourite collection out of this runway show. The sheer crème top with swirl designs that was cropped at the front, the black shag style jacket with the dark red printed pants and the black/white bustier worn with the tailored jacket (hot!) were absolutely amazing. I’m already on my way to the store..
Other stand outs included Bettina Liano’s light washed denim zipper jacket that was worn with the ripped black jeans and Extinct’s collection which was very chic and modern, opening with a very sexy black bodysuit with a hot leather jacket donned with peaked shoulders. (seeing a lot of those.. not that I’m complaining). The peaked shoulders were out again on a sexy little black dress with elbow length sleeves. This runway was also the first catwalk this year which also included menswear.
I also liked the chunky block gold and black necklace that was worn throughout Joveeba’s collection. Her collection consisted of bold prints and colours in hard blues and purples with daring golds and silvers towards the end. The black long sleeve bodysuit with the capelet also caught my eye as well as the long black cardi worn with the little crème dress. You can go the Designers section on this site for more info on Joveeba as well as the E-boutique for some of her designs.
And if you haven’t seen it already, check out the interview with Hussy designer Marie on her AW 2010 collection in this Community section.
Not long now till the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival is over.
